Oh my darling, Clementine...

For breakfast this morning I thought it would be a great idea for Annabelle to learn something new...how to peel her own Clementine orange. She apparently thought it was a good idea, too, because she jumped right in and worked on that Clementine and patiently peeled the whole thing with very little help from Grandmomma. I know this will make her Mommy really proud of Annabelle and Grandmomma, both. She's always talking about how she can't get her out of the house on time. This should make it easier. Now all she has to do is hand her the Clementine and let her peel it herself while she is finishing breakfast. Sounds like she's continuing on her road to independence to me.

She worked so long and so hard peeling each little tiny piece from her Clementine. I keep hearing her say something like "baby orange",but Mommy thinks it's her version of Clementine.

Anyway, as she peeled each little section, it would go up to her nose and she would enjoy the smell from the fruit before she cast it aside. Piece by piece until she finally finished, then onto splitting it into sections. She got quite good at peeling those Clementines and she needed very little help from me once she worked on it for a while. Very smart little girl.

I think it teaches her patience, good eye-hand coordination and it uses her fine motor skills as she peels away each piece.

She did enjoy herself. Won't Mommy be surprised?

Yes, again, thanks for that...adding another thirty minutes to our morning routine!
