Practicing to be a Drama Queen - The sunscreen episode

Saturday, March 22, 2008
This will also be a several-parter segment because I just get tired of all the time it takes to do these pictures at one sitting, and they're just too darn cute to leave on the computer for everyone else to miss, so I will bore you a little at a time.

These were made when we went to a little park in the big city for another Easter Egg Hunt practice so The Little Princess could get this egg hunt thing down perfectly.

Here you will see The Little Princess trying to avoid her Mommy as Mommy generously sprays and spreads the sunscreen lotion on The Little Princess. She is definitely not very happy with her Mommy. This is almost as bad for her as having her Mommy scrub the skin off her face after each meal.

Can't you just see the head-to-head combat that's in their future? As her Grandmomma, I'm loving it! You may have won this one, Mommy, but there are plenty more down the road. You better get lots of practice in while you can!

Closer and closer to the Easter Bunny we come...

Friday, March 21, 2008
This is being done in several parts because I always get them backwards, so if you are interested, continue on down several segments and you will see more exciting pictures from the day of the Easter Bunny visit with the Little Princess.

She was a little (that's putting it mildly) apprehensive once we got to the Bunny's house. As long as we were standing on the outside and away from the Bunny she nodded vigorously that she would go see the Easter Bunny. She even waved at him...from a very safe distance.

Then we made the move into the Peter Rabbit's garden. You will notice on this picture she has her hand out, not really waving, but more to get him to be careful how he invades her space.

A few more minutes with Mommy holding her and she's still thinking about it.

She was offered the crown jewels by the man taking the pictures. She was all about taking those crown jewels, but she wasn't at all happy with any strings he may have attached to her taking them. She kept her jewels.
He would have had a major fight on his hands if he had even thought about taking those away from her. He hadn't seen a fit until he tried that. He was a wise man, indeed.

Poor Bunny. Little Princess has damaged his ears and given him a severe headache.
Just let him talk to Santa about that visit during Christmas. Santa is completely deaf, I'm sure, and all because of a sweet little Princess named Annabelle. Now Peter Rabbit is also deaf!

Rather than take up money-making time for Peter Rabbit we moved back to the side, but still inside the garden so she could watch some of the other children. Of course, some had to pitch a fit like her, but others were nice to him. I'll bet their baskets were filled to the brim Easter morning! As you can see, she was a teensy bit apprehensive, still.

Oh, it's time to move on, Little Princess. Just bite the bullet and get into Bunny's lap. Now this is where the screaming really begins.

See the mean Mommy put the sweet screaming, frightened baby into that big old Bunny's lap? See Baby cry? Poor Baby! Hear Baby have nightmares tonight!

Please don't make me sit in his lap, Mommy. I'll be good forever and ever! Notice the Little Princess still has the crown jewels tightly clasped in her little hands.

Grandmomma, Granddaddy, where are you? You're supposed to be my bestest friend in the whole wide world and what are you doing? You're standing there with a camera stuck in your face! Poor, pitiful little me!

All that torture was finally over and Mommy bought the cheapest package she could. Cheap Mommy, after all the time you made that poor photographer waste and you only bought the cheap package. I guess you'll need to save the money for the therapy poor Little Princess will have to go through as a result of meeting Santa and the Easter Bunny.

And, as a footnote, as I had warned Mommy, "You have to watch Granddaddy, he's busy watching everybody else and he won't get the pictures on the video if you aren't careful." Sure enough, true to form, everything was over before he got more than three seconds, yes three seconds of video of the Little Princesses visit with the Easter Bunny. Oh, stop it. Stop feeling so sorry for "poor Granddaddy".

Little Princess, I'm not even sure anyone can see all those cute little bunnies on that darling dress you had on. You should have been more cooperative. But I love you anyway!

Little Princesses' first time to try out the Dwarf House Door

The Little Princess walked through the big red door or I should say, the little pint-sized door, at the Dwarf House near our house. She has been to Chick-a-lay a few times but not all of them have the little red doors for the little people to walk through and this was her grand entrance.

Peek-a-boo - Who are you?

Here I come, ready or not!

Here she comes...

Oh, it's just you, huh?

I could do this all day long. It's almost as much fun as climbing on file cabinets and sofas and bookshelves and...

Eating that scrumptous ice cream from Chick-a-lay

Friday, March 21, 2008
Finally, we're able to enjoy the treat of ice cream for being such a perfect little angel when we visited the Easter Bunny earlier. Here are a few shots.

My Granddaddy says you can't have an ice cream without eating it with some good old greasy french fries. I agree with him! They are so very delicious...

This is really good!

Dribble, dribble down my chin...

If I can just get this last little bit on this side of my hand...

Mommy steals a kiss

In the hair and on the nose,
You may even find it between my toes!

Being a Mommy is soo hard especially when you're only 17 months old

A little bit of Annabelle Attitude peeking through...
Annabelle Attitude #2...enough is enough!
I'm going to let the pictures do some of the story-telling of our day with the Little Princess because I have so very many cute pictures to share. These were made after seeing The Easter Bunny and she was in pretty good spirits considering all she'd been through.

Sweet baby rocking her babies:

Don't hit your little sister in the face.

Be nice to her!

Rock-a-bye Baby, in the tree top...

I can't hold them both...I'm going to lose them...help me, help me, help meee.
I warned you!!

Nobody told me being a Mommy was this hard!

Melt downs over...Sweet Baby returns...

Sometimes it's hard being The Little Princess

I love you, girls!

And a happy 10th wedding anniversary to the parents of my three little denims!

Dresses befitting a true Little Princess - Part 2 - Blue Dress

OK, so I'm not good about planning these pictures. But at least they're getting on there. You should have looked at the one below it first. Darn. I can never figure out which way to go first. Anyway, these are still cute. Not as many because I got tired of posting them. Almost as tired as Little Princess got while we were making them.

After working on these pictures for so long, I can understand exactly how you feel, Little Princess. I promise I won't take any more pictures of you...until I see you next time. I love you.

Fine dresses befitting a true Little Princess

Sunday, March 16, 2008

Since my life yesterday was changed by bad weather and staying off the computer, I'm going to post some pictures today of The Beautiful Little Princess in her fine smock dresses her mommy bought her last week. She is so adorable I could just love her to death! It's so very hard to chose which ones to put on the blogsite, but here goes a few:

Get up off the ground, Sweetie, Mommy will have a fit if she sees you rolling around in the dirt with your new duds on. It's all about the dress, Sweetie. It's all about the dress! Jump up before she sees you. Quick, like a bunny. No, not the Easter Bunny! Just a bunny. Hop! Hop! Hop!

The Easter Bunny "hid" some eggs in the open spaces so the Little Princess could gather the eggs.

Little Princess found tons of Easter Eggs. She's loaded her basket and now she moves on.

Aren't I just the cutest little thing you've ever seen?

What is that in this sky? No, no, no, don't tell me it's Santa. Not again! I can't take him again!
Oh, so it's the Easter Bunny? No? It's a plane? What is it? Bye bye Santa, Bye bye, Easter Bunny, Bye bye, plane.

Can we just stop this nonsense? I'm tired of playing Easter Egg Hunt. I just want to stop and roll around or get naked. Stop, I say, Stop!

OK, Little Princess. We'll stop...long enough to change into your new blue dress and take a few cute shots of you there. See you on the next page!

Tornadoes, tornadoes, tornadoes everywhere...

Saturday, March 14, 2008
Today has been a horrendous day, weatherwise. We have had tornado watches on top of each other all day long! Probably the most I've ever known. I have an absolute fear of tornadoes. I have had dreams since I was a small child that I would be killed in a tornado or airplane crash. Who knows why I would dream such as a young child because I really don't remember tornado watches or warnings out at that time. Maybe it reverts back to the days of the storm shelters of the '50's. We never had one at our house, so I'm not sure about that either. Nonetheless it has been a recurring fear for me. As far as the airplanes are concerned, I never knew what an airplane looked like close up until my brother left for the Navy and we took him to the airport.

Prior to him being in the service, I would lay out in the field sometimes and watch the airplanes fly over, but they were so tiny and I never had thoughts of ever flying in one at that age. I do remember one time a helicopter had to make an emergency stop in the little community I lived in, but I don't remember any fear from that.

Oh well, for whatever reasons, I am deadly afraid of tornadoes. I don't really fear an airplane crash as far as I'm concerned at this point in my life. I've enjoyed my trips on planes so far.

Any-who, these tornadoes were referred to as being like trains coming in, each adjoined almost to each other.

We finally were hit with hailstones of maybe 1/4-1/2" in diameter while other places around us were being hit with them as large as 4.50". Scary, huh? Ours went over fairly fast. My new roof and I thanked them for that. I could just see all that money going down the drain. Some things can't be help, I guess, and that's one of them. Much worse things could have happened and I'm just thankful they didn't.

It started last night around 9:30 when a tornado hit downtown Atlanta. It hit the Omni, The Georgia Dome, where they were having play offs for the SEC Basketball championship, CNN Center, and several places where lots of activity was going on. Luckily, it hit while things were still in progress and not at the time for them to leave.

Windows were blown out of some of the buildings in downtown one of which was made of all glass. The true damage wasn't known until today, but thankfully no one was killed in that one.
There were two people killed in the upper rural areas of the state during today's storm.

It was just a big mess everywhere in the northern part of the state. I'm glad it's over!

Practicing for Easter morning...

Wednesday, March 13, 2008

We couldn't make up our minds what we really wanted to do while we were out of town, so we finally decided to do something really fun and more important than checking out a nearby attraction.

We thought it would be fun to dress the Little Princess up in those beautiful smocked dresses her mommy bought yesterday and find a place with lots of flowers to photograph her. We had gone last night before we checked in for the night and gotten an Easter basket and some plastic eggs to use as props for our picturesWe were so confident we could get pictures of that beautiful Little Princess hunting Easter eggs.
We were directed to a park not far away with a waterfall. Unfortunately, we didn't find the waterfall until after Little Princess had conveyed to us just how intolerate she could be to changing clothes so many times. She really let us know the first outfit we put on her, but we tried to ignore her.

The funniest thing to me, that happened was when her mommy said to me, "Why don't you hide some Easter eggs in that tree over there, but don't let her see you put them there." To which, immediately The Little Princess pranced right over to the tree with her Easter eggs in her basket and promptly took some eggs out and planted them there at the tree! We really have to learn to spell more. She may not be saying a major amount of words at one time, but she certainly understands every one that comes out of our mouths! She understands in complete sentences. I love it.

She was more interested in seeing the water and climbing up the little hills around the area. She pulled me over that park.

It was a very pretty area. We had tried to take the pictures earlier in the morning to keep the shadows down, but it was not easy since there were so many trees around in the park.

We found the waterfall as I was attempting to take a few pictures over the ridge looking down the hill we were on. There was the waterfall flowing oh so prettily over the rocks.

Although we had given up and called it a day by the time we found those waterfalls we decided we had to dress Little Princess up once again. She saw a playground and was more interested in playing on it than posing for pictures. We did get a few more then dressed her more casually.

We left for home and the Little Princess slept part of the way home. It was a long trip for her, and she fussed a little bit, but all in all she was a very good girl and I'll bet the Easter Bunny comes to her house next week end.
