Little Princess doesn't feel well today

It was an early morning today. We went down to Little Princesses’ house to keep her while her Mommy went to an early morning meeting. We all got up early, including Little Princess and she was feeling a bit sluggish this morning, partly because of having to get up early and partly because she seems to be coming down with a cold. At least she has a runny nose.

I took some new books over for her to look at , but she also wanted to share her books with me. She went to the big book case her Daddy made her for Christmas and wanted me to open it. There were books, books, books for her to want to look at. We pulled down one or two, looked at them and put them back.

One of the new books I took her was Bye-Bye Pacifier. It has lift the flaps to finish telling the story about a little kid who is giving up his paci. Maybe in a few more months it will be worth spending the time reading to her. She enjoyed it, but I don’t think she was buying into that giving up her paci for now!

I found one of the smaller books on the floor and asked her if she knew where the others were. She walked right over to the table and tried to show them to me. I didn’t know she had found them there and kept looking. She acting like she was completely irritated with me because I couldn’t find what was in front of my face. There were were right on top of the table where she had left them, who knows how long ago. She still remembered where they were. She has a great little memory!

When she needs her diaper changed she will go to the diaper stacker and start pulling out two or three at a time. She must think she needs more than one. She is so funny.

She and I were talking about her dolly having a teddy bear and a bunny on her blanket. She looked over trying to find her bunny. It sounded like she said, “Dere’s Teddy,” as she grabbed for him/her. I think she’s putting more than one word together. She also said something that sounded a lot like “Ganddaddy’s kamma” for Granddaddy’s camera. It was sitting on the table in front of her.

And, of course, she also had to practice climbing in those silly dining room chairs. She thinks she is quite capable of getting down from the chair in a forward move instead of her usual turning around to her tummy and getting down. It’s not as easy for her, but she’s surely trying something new. Better watch that maneuver Mommy because she thinks its fun since it’s different. She is such a little dare devil. Just wait until she gets to be a teen-ager! WOW!

Mommy called and wanted to know if we wanted to meet her for lunch. We did, but Little Princess was ready before we were. Mommy still had a ways to go from work to the cafeteria.

This is a big day of several “firsts” for her. This was the first time she has ridden in our car seat headed forward. Her little legs are getting way too short in our car for her to continue with the backward position, so we all decided it was time for the forward position. We’ll see how long it takes before she has to ride forward in their car seat. She seemed to be quite happy in the forward-facing seat.

At the cafeteria one of the female workers who always comes over and talks to her, came over and was making a big deal over her. I wish I could have captured the look on her little face. She shot her a sideways look that you would have had to see to believe. It was like she couldn’t believe the woman was making such a big deal.

Her mommy was eating some chocolate pudding. Little Princess got really excited because it looked so good to her. This was her first time for chocolate pudding so Mommy gave her some. It was so yummy for her. She enjoyed it so much. Then she spotted a gummy worm in the pudding! It was a nice juicy red one and she wanted that gummy worm all for herself. She kept pointing to it and telling Mommy she wanted it. Mommy wasn’t sure it was a good idea for her to have it, but after a bit of persuasion Mommy pulled the gummy worm from the pudding and proceeded to break it into two pieces. That brought about a flood of tears and a bit of screaming. She was destroying that worm! Little Princess wanted it all in one piece. Finally after grandmomma translated, Mommy relented and gave it to her first bit by tiny bit and then after some fussing Little Princess got about half of it. She enjoyed her little gummy worm. It was good and soggy by the time it had set in the pudding for a while.

Little Princess had a nice nap and while she slept her Mommy and I ran a few errands. Granddaddy called to let us know she was up already. We also were heading home at that point.

She’s still got a cold and maybe a little temperature. Hope she feels lots better soon. It’s no fun to watch Little Princess as she’s sick.

Now we’re back home recuperating once again after a busy day with Little Princess.
